The Text tool can be found on the Tool Bar on the left side of the interface as the "T" Icon. With the Text tool active, you can click anywhere on the canvas to create a text layer and add type to your project.

You can adjust Text layer properties in the Inspector in the layer's properties panel. Going from top-to-bottom on the properties panel, below are the descriptions of each parameter:

  1. Text - Use this parameter to procedurally populate the text layer

  2. Font Family - Use this parameter to select the Google Font you'd like to use on the text layer

  3. Font Style - Use this parameter to select the font style you'd like the text layer to have

  4. Font Size - Use this parameter to control the font size of the text layer. Fable's Font Size parameter uses points as its unit.

  5. Text Alignment - Use this parameter to control the alignment of the text layer in relation to its bounding box

  6. Vertical Alignment - Use this parameter to control the vertical alignment of the text layer in relation to its bounding box

  7. Tracking - Use this parameter to control the space between characters on the text layer

  8. Leading - Use this parameter to control the space between lines on the text layer

  9. Color - Use this parameter to control the font color of the text layer

Just like any other layer, you can scale a text layer by clicking and dragging the white squares at the corners of the layer or the blue borders around the layer. However, if you'd like to resize the bounding box of the text layer, you can click and drag the circles positioned on each of the layer's borders.

Currently, custom fonts cannot be added to Fable; however, Fable supports the full selection of the Google Fonts library.
