Whenever you create a Scene, the scene will be added to your Project's Asset Browser.

Opening and Editing Scenes

If you'd like to open a Scene to edit or view it:

  1. Open the Asset Browser

  2. Double Click the Scene you'd like to open (mouse may need to be on scene icon)

  3. The scene will open as a new project tab within the Fable Editor

Once a Scene is open, it can also be accessed on the project tab bar at the top of the Canvas.

If you have a Timeline open that has a Scene on it, you can also edit the scene in the following ways:

  • On the Timeline, Double Click the Scene you'd like to open and edit

  • On the Canvas, Right Click the Scene you'd like to open and edit. Then click the "Edit Scene" option on the canvas context menu

Adding Scenes to the Timeline

Scenes can be added to any Timeline – the main project timeline or even other scene timelines.

To add Scenes to the Timeline:

  1. Open the Asset Browser

  2. Drag the Scene you'd like to add onto the Timeline

Detaching Scene Instances

Each instance of a scene on your timeline will be an identical copy. If you'd like to detach a specific instance of a scene, so it will no longer be directly editable on the primary scene instance, you can do any of the following.

Detaching a scene on the Timeline

  1. Right Click the Scene on the Timeline

  2. Click the Detach Scene option on the timeline context menu

Detaching a scene on the Canvas

  1. Right Click the Scene on the Canvas

  2. Click the Detach Scene option on the canvas context menu

Here's an Academy video to learn more about accessing and editing Scenes.

Exporting a Scene

For now a workaround is:
• Place the scene you want to export into your root project timeline

• Hide all other layers
• Export
(You may have to change the dimensions of you project if your scene is a different size).
